Billboard announced BTS as one of the nominees in the top artist under its Social 50 chart. Last year too, the band topped the category leaving behind artists like Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber.
Among groups, BTS has far and away the most weeks at No. 1. One Direction has the second-most weeks in the penthouse, with eight.
BTS have achieved a major feat this week. The band has become the first K-pop group to be nominated for Billboard Music Awards. The group has been nominated under “Top Social Artist” category.
