YG gives clarification and apology about Big Bang TOP's condition

BIGBANG’s T.O.P was reportedly found unconscious on the morning of June 6 at a police station where he was undertaking mandatory military service, and rushed to hospital.

Around 5 p.m. KST he was moved from the ER to the Intensive Care Unit.

YG stated, “T.O.P has been taken to the Intensive Care Unit and is receiving intensive care. He normally takes tranquilizers, but according to the police he took more than usual this time.”

Following that Police have also revealed that, in light of the recent marijuana charges, T.O.P was deemed unfit for duty in his current position in the police PR department and will transferred to a different police unit. Though it has yet to be determined where T.O.P will be transferred, it is likely that he will be headed to a more peripheral department located in Yangcheon District.

Following the transfer, as soon as T.O.P receives his official notice of prosecution, he will be removed from his new station and sent home, according to police procedure regarding officers under prosecution. Technically, T.O.P will still be considered a conscripted policeman, although his time on standby at home will not count toward his mandatory service.

 T.O.P received a sentence of over 18 months, he will be forcibly discharged from the military. If his sentence is anything shorter than 18 months, including not guilty, he will finish the remainder of his mandatory service upon his release.

YG Entertainment announced on June 9

 “We are deeply apologetic to the patients who have been inconvenienced for the past couple of days,” referencing the large influx of reporters who had gathered at the Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital.“The hospital’s medical team made the recommendation that T.O.P should be moved from the intensive care unit to the general ward. However, his guardian requested that he be moved to a different facility that has single patient rooms to make visiting him a smoother process. We will not be releasing the name of the new hospital as we wish to avoid the situation we faced at the first hospital. We ask for your understanding.”

Hence TOP was moved to another hospital after four days from hospital. He was escorted out of the hospital in a wheelchair, and said “I’m sorry” as he left.

“This is Choi Seung Hyun.

“First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize for causing great disappointment and disturbance with a huge wrongdoing.

“I am too ashamed of myself to stand in front of everyone for an apology. I have no excuses and feel very regretful and fearful, so I am carefully writing down these feelings as words.

“Our members, my agency, the public.My fans who have supported me, and my family, I have left an irreparable scar in everyone’s hearts, so I believe I deserve to be punished.

“I will never make such an irresponsible mistake again. Once more, I apologize for not being able to apologize to everyone personally. I will deeply repent my wrongdoing.

“I am very ashamed of myself.

“I’ll regret this for tens of thousands of years.”
